Abstract

In recent years, we have seen a rise in information disorder and rapid technological changes. It can therefore be said that information literacy has never been more important for university students than it is now. Information literacy involves the ability to find, evaluate, and use information in a critical and responsible manner. It is not only a fundamental element of academic studies but also a key component for participation in a democratic society.

With this in mind, a new interactive educational website, Upplýsingalæsi.is, was developed in collaboration with Icelandic university libraries. The aim of the website is to strengthen university students' information literacy and train them to meet new challenges in the digital information environment.
